Yuko Takemura

Born in Nagano, Japan. I studied ceramics at Nara College of Arts and later worked at a craft studio,teaching potteries. Later on I came to London, completed study in BA Drawing at Camberwell College of Arts where I explore my ideas through the media of short film, sculpture and photography. Many of my works use domestic liquid such as water, baby oil, and glycerine, which create aesthetically hypnotic images. I create those images within the objects or structures made with plastic sheets. I have progressed my specific concerns towards perception and sensation that draw inexpressible feelings, which floats through body and mind. I have focused on its physical phenomenon can trigger memories associated with past emotions, thoughts impressions, past time and space. I aim to convey its particular moment in order for viewers to be involved with my work visually and physically.
